Owners, Ellen Maranca and Courtenay Harton: We have been designers and co-owners of Room Service Interiors, LLC for a dozen years in the Princeton, NJ area. We offer clients critical thinking, flexibility, and experience as a team.
Design Style: We believe in clean, classical lines, and relaxed living. A room must accommodate a family’s current lifestyle, and anticipate its future. A beautiful space must function well for all individuals. We listen to our clients, while understanding their needs and wants in planning for their unique homes.
Ellen: Design is my life; just ask my husband! I love to design. Before Room Service, I worked for 2 major department stores as a visual merchandiser. That led me to other aspects of design: window dressing, floral design and helping friends and family in their homes. I decided to go back to school and make it official, by graduating from the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. It helped me solidify my design skills and business ability. My style is eclectic, but I love to use my creativity in all styles, from traditional to ultra modern. Having traveled in many parts of the world, and having lived in Tokyo for a few years, I have gained a real sense of form and line definition.
Courtenay: I grew up surrounded by a family that loved and collected antiques. My childhood included many weekends at auctions or flea markets in North Carolina. I learned to identify style and quality. My appreciation for fabrics, art, and scale grew as I had the chance to live in different cultures; a year in Mexico, and 4 in France. I’m now intrigued with the contrast of primitive antiques with modern art and lighting. Black and white is one of my favorite color palettes. Ellen and I started Room Service while at Moore College of Art & Design.
